More than a half-dozen public employees snooped in confidential state records for personal information on the "American Idol" runner-up, officials said Thursday.

Social media, not radio or MTV, has become the way much of the public now becomes acquainted with new music. This changing of the guard is now being reflected by MTV’s Video Music Awards.

The pop singer and her attorneys said in a statement on her website that they expect Fernando Flores' case to be dismissed. Flores sued the 28-year-old on Wednesday, claiming she repeatedly exposed herself to him and that he witnessed her abusing her young sons.
